LNER Kitchen Composite 7960
Despite 7960 having been on the SVR for more than 25 years few people, even amongst the 'carriage fraternity', know of its existence.
This is hardly surprising since for the first 10 years the carriage was stored out of view in the former Top Yard at Kidderminster. Even when restoration commenced, initially at Kidderminster then later at Bewdley, the coach remained out of sight hidden under waterproof sheets. Thankfully 7960 has finally emerged from under those tarpaulins and stands in a prominent position next to the car park at Bewdley Station and as a result questions are being asked.
Hopefully this mini web-site will not only answer some of those questions but will also provide information to all those who have an interest in our railway heritage.
My thanks to Paul Bennett who set up this web-site and to Colin Jenkins for providing all the photographs.
