Completed in 1947 to Diagram C82, Lot 1691.
Hawksworth third. Built in 1947. Purchased in 1968 from Didcot. Hawksworth carriages are not exactly thick on the ground and the Valley is lucky to have two out of the three survivors (796 is a Dynamometer Car conversion)’. 829 went straight into service on its arrival before being restored in time for the Rainhill celebrations of 1980.
