New members are always welcome and subscription fees are kept low. An illustrated Newsletter for members has been recently introduced, nominally published twice yearly it includes news and progress projects and along with recent and archive photos.

The membership application form is available in both HTML and PDF (26Kb) formats. Please print and complete either version and post to Membership Secretary.

Donate on-line

Credit and Debit card donations can be made securely on-line via the Charities Aid Foundation. There's a big advantage here, any Gift-Aid will be added directly to your donation. If you pay tax in the UK just tick the Gift Aid box and, at no extra cost to you, the reclaimed tax will be added directly to your donation, so a £10.00 donation becomes (after the admin fee) a £12.18 donation to the Association.

Make a Regular Donation

One off and regular donations by standing order can be one of the most effective ways to help the Association. Our progress is largely dependent on funds available and we still have plenty of challenges ahead. Please complete and send to your own bank. Available in HTML and PDF (26kB) formats.

Gift Aid Declaration

Gift AidIf you are a UK taxpayer, you can make your contributions worth nearly 30 per cent more, at no extra cost to you. For every £10 donated, the Association can claim an extra £2.82 from the Inland Revenue, making your donations and membership subscriptions worth even more. Please complete either the HTML or PDF (33kB) forms and return.

Come along and help with our Working Parties

The main vehicle being worked on is 1928 built bow-ended composite 6045. It is the only one of its type in preservation, representing standard Great Western carriage stock of the 1930s and 1940s. It is composed of a side corridor, four 1st class and three 3rd class compartments and two toilets. Work is concentrated on the internal fitting out after completing work on the external framework and panelling. We still have to finish the doors fitting, tackle the roof/gutters and the mechanical overhaul. Working parties are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays with no special skills needed (although welcome). Email us on info@gw-svr-a.org.uk or phone Mick Haynes on 07733 310 060.

Donate items and helping in the Association's Shop

In the Cattle Dock is our restored Great Western Brake 1145 forms the bed-rock of our sales activities and is open most weekends throughout the year. The stand relies on the good-will of members and friends to make donations of good quality books and other items of both railway and general interest. All proceeds go directly towards funding our restoration projects and so any items you can bring along are most welcome.

Assistance with manning the shop on weekends (and on weekdays when trains are running) would be welcome, little training is needed. Offers of help to Chris Haynes on 0121 421 6955 or e-mail chaynes52@hotmail.com
