April 2008 |
80969 came out of the paintshop 16th April following it's comprehensive overhaul. Next stop will be Kidderminster for lifting and a mechanical check over before returning to traffic.

Meanwhile we continue to fit out the inside of 1257 Siphon G, with intention of returning it to original condition complete with shelving.

With Siphon G 1257 completed, GWR Hawksworth Inspection Saloon 80969 is in the works for a heavy repair and revamp.
The old paint work has been completely stripped to bare metal...
...all the windows taken out and rebedded...

Toplight 3930. What was hoped would be a quick re-varnish has turned into a much larger job when the paint was found to be lifting on the west side of the coach. The east side is ok though so will just be re-varnished. |

Mk1 35219 as been in for a thorough re-paint over the last couple months and now returned to traffic. The GW(SVR)A's Toplight 3930 is the next in for repaint. |

LNER Open Third 52255 followed 43600 into the paintshop for revarnish. This returned to traffic in time for the Santa trains. Next in the paintshop was the GW(SVR)A's Churchward saloon unclassed 9369 for repaint. All being well this should be out-shopped next week. |
